Your professional driver will meet you in the port of Tangier, often referred to as Europe’s gateway to Africa. Absorb the landscape as you begin your journey through Morocco.

We make our way to Chefchaouen which is famous for its vivid blue washed houses. Chefchaouen is popular for both tourists and Moroccans. It is a popular vacation destination. Explore this charming town with its winding lanes and narrow alleys which are home to numerous souks. Discover offerings of cuisine and artisan works, such as woolen items, intricate embroidery and goats cheese; all native to the North and not found anywhere else in Morocco. Relax in the square, visit a local farm or hike in nearby parks. You will enjoy a night here in a beautiful hotel/riad.

FES SIGHTSEEING TOURS

Enjoy your breakfast for today will be devoted to the amazing sights of Fes. With your private guide, you will experience the oldest cultural and spiritual imperial city of Morocco, founded in 790 B.C. by Moulay Idriss II. An historic highlight will include the Medieval Medina, protected as an UNESCO World Heritage Site and which is one of the world’s largest walled cities. Lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices and intricately woven Berber carpets, the narrow streets are yours to explore. Other points of interest include the Medersa (an Islamic teaching university), the El Qaraouiyyin Mosque which was founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the spectacular Nejjarine Fountain.

After some time to enjoy lunch we continue with a visit to the “Arabian House” to observe various craftsmen performing their work reminiscent of ancient practices. The Dar Batha Palace is now a museum of arts and traditions. Other places of interest include the Kings Palace, Bab Boujiloud and the Chouwara Tanneries. At the end of the day you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Fes.

After breakfast we begin our adventure to the Ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. With your private guide it is here that we witness the artistic mosaics, marble and bronze statuary that have been unearthed and preserved.

Next we make our way to Meknes or “The Moroccan Versailles”, which was founded at the end of the 17th century by Moulay Ismail. Notice the Spanish-Moorish style architecture and the great walls surrounding the Old Medina. Highlights will include Bab Mansour and Hari Souani. A fascinating sight is the Royal Stables, built to house more than twelve thousand royal horses. We end our day back at your hotel/riad in Fes.

FES • IFRANE • AZROU • ZIZ VALLEY • MERZOUGA

Following your breakfast we start out on a fascinating route through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Merzouga. We make a stop in Ifrane known for its alpine-style architecture. We affectionately refer to this town as the Switzerland of Morocco. This is a popular place to stop for interesting photos.

Now we drive to the cedar forest of Azrou, home to Barbary Macaques. Don’t miss the opportunity to hand feed the monkeys as they playfully tease you with their antics. In Azrou you will observe the traditional souk and daily mountain Berber life. As we pass through the Ziz Valley, keep in mind that this was part of a traditional caravan trading route between settlements of Northern Sahara. We will make stops to enjoy the views and take photos of this spectacular site. We end the day at your hotel/riad in Merzouga as you prepare for another fascinating day.

MERZOUGA • KHAMLIA • ALLURE OF THE DESERT CAMEL TREK

Today we witness the nomad’s way of life. We will visit the village of Khamlia, famous for its Gnaoua music, which is a mix of classical Islamic and African Traditional. Don’t pass up the opportunity to join in with the musicians. We have a unique opportunity to visit Berber nomads as they welcome us to their desert camp. Enjoy this relaxing time as we prepare for an incredible afternoon.

You will enjoy the much anticipated camel trek into the pink sands of Morocco’s highest dunes. Savor your time wandering the dunes before the sun sets in a spectacular show of colors. A traditional Moroccan dinner is served, followed by a traditional music show of Berber instruments around a campfire. Bask in this desert night atmosphere as you take a look up at the sky. The Milky Way will be waiting for you in full glory. Count the shooting stars as you gaze in wonder before a peaceful night in a private nomadic tent. This truly is an oasis in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Be sure to wake up early this morning to watch what well may be the most striking sunrise of your life. Don’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of these breathtaking dunes of Erg Chebbi as the changing light of day plays upon the sand.

After breakfast at your luxury camp, the continuation of your peek into this alluring life progresses as we make our way to Todra Gorges, the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Have your camera ready as we stop along the way for spectacular photo opportunities. Take the time to walk around and absorb the grandeur of this wondrous place. Let’s take a look at the Skoura Oasis which is among Morocco’s most beautiful oasis. The wave of date palms in this grove seems endless. You will spend the night at your hotel/riad in this beautiful town.

SKOURA • OUARZAZATE • AIT BENHADDOU • KALAAT M'GOUNA • MARRAKECH

From Skoura we head to Ouarzazate, “The Hollywood of Africa”. The unique geography and beautiful landscapes have attracted many world class movie producers. Here you may choose to visit the studios containing props used in movies such as the Mummy, Gladiator and The Last Temptation of Christ.

Let’s visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. This famous kasbah is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco and was used as a backdrop for more than twenty films. Next we visit Kalaat M’Gouna, “The Rose City”. Don’t pass up the chance to purchase the rosewater for which the city was named. We travel to Marrakech through the incredible Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains. Many stops along the way are provided for coffee or tea and to enjoy the breathtaking, picturesque scenery. The splendor of these majestic mountains is indeed a sight to behold. Upon arrival in Marrakech, a beautiful hotel/riad will be waiting.

MARRAKECH SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast in your hotel/riad, this day will be devoted to the sightseeing of Marrakech, the second oldest imperial city known as the “Pearl of the South” and home to the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Garden. With your private guide you will explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We will walk about the souks and the world famous Djemaa El Fna which offers various entertainment such as storytellers, acrobats, snake-charmers and magicians. The Jardin Majorelle is a two and a half acre botanical garden created by the artist for whom it is named. We return you to your hotel/ riad for an overnight stay.

MARRAKECH • ESSAOUIRA • MARRAKECH

On this day trip, we will visit the beach and famous fishing port of Essaouira, formally known by its old Portuguese name, Mogador. This citadel with a prestigious past has been occupied since prehistoric times and was famous for its Tyrian factory which supplied Rome with its legendary purple dye.

Protected as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, Its medina is a hub for local artists and is known for the day and night life. You’ll visit the port, the Scala, the municipal market, and a handicrafts complex. You will also have the opportunity to discover the marvelous Argon oil when you visit a Women’s Co-operative manufacturing this famous product. Don’t forget to ask about the “goat trees”. We return to your hotel/riad in Marrakech for the evening.

Today we drive to Casablanca where you meet your private guide to explore the city sites such as the Atlantic Boardwalk and the Hassan II Square. A major highlight is the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco as well as the fifth largest in the world. It’s minaret is the tallest minaret in the world. Your day ends at your hotel in Casablanca.
