Day 1

Our professional driver will pick you up at your hotel where we begin our incredible journey through the spectacular High Atlas Mountain pass of Tizi n’Tichka. Many stops along the way are provided for coffee or tea and to enjoy the breathtaking, picturesque scenery. With elevations reaching 2260 meters high, the splendor of these majestic mountains is indeed a sight to behold.

We arrive to Ait Benhaddou, a famous Kasbah. An UNESCO World Heritage Site, this kasbah is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco and was used as a backdrop for more than twenty films. We continue our journey to Kalaat M’Gouna, widely known for its Festival des Roses. If you are lucky enough to be here in May, you may witness the grandeur of this festival. Known as “The Rose City”, don’t pass up the chance to purchase the rosewater for which the city is named.

We will conclude this day in Dades Gorges where you will stay the night in a hotel/riad.

Day 2

DADES GORGES • TODRA GORGES • ERFOUD • RISSANI • MERZOUGA

After breakfast, we explore the wondrous Dades Gorges. You will be awestruck by the multi-colored walls of this magnificent gorges. The walls range from 200-500 meters high. We will visit a nomad family living in the mountain caves. You will learn how this style of life differs from the life you will see in the desert.

We will also spend time enjoying the marvelous majesty of Todra Gorges. Carved out by the Todra and Dades rivers, this spectacular gorges is the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. There will be no shortage of photographic moments.

When we arrive in Erfoud, we visit the marine deposit of fossils where these preserved remains are unearthed and traded or fabricated into products such as jewelry. In Rissani, we visit the largest Berber market of the region. People from surrounding areas come here to purchase their necessities. We finish our day in Merzouga for the night as you relax and prepare for another amazing day tomorrow.

Day 3

MERZOUGA DESERT 4X4 EXCURSION

Today we will discover the unmatched landscape of Merzouga. We will visit Khamlia Village which is famous for its Gnaoua music which is a mix of classical Islamic and African Traditional.

Get ready for a thrilling adventure of the Erg Chebbi Dunes by 4X4. This offroading trek offers you many incomparable views of these mysterious Dunes. This excursion is perfect for the thrill seeking, outdoor loving types. After this wondrous day, enjoy a relaxing night in a desert hotel/riad.

Day 4

MERZOUGA EXPLORATION •
ALLURE OF THE DESERT CAMEL TREK

After an early breakfast you will have time to discover our magnificent Sahara Desert on your own. With numerous possible activities, you might choose the excitement of driving quads around the dunes. Maybe sand boarding on the dunes sounds like a priceless activity. A unique activity that’s popular with the locals is to take a sand bath (summer months, weather permitting).

In the evening we prepare for the much anticipated camel trek into the pink sands of Morocco’s highest dunes. Enjoy your time wandering the dunes before the sun sets in a spectacular show of colors. A traditional Moroccan dinner is served, followed by a traditional music show of Berber instruments around a campfire.

Enjoy this desert night atmosphere as you take a look up at the sky. The Milky Way will be waiting for you in full glory. Count the shooting stars as you gaze in wonder before a peaceful night in a private nomadic tent. This truly is an oasis in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Day 5

MERZOUGA DESERT • ERFOUD • MIDELT • AZROU • FES

Be sure to wake up early to see the beauty of the picturesque sunrise over the desert dunes. It just might be the most spectacular one you’ve seen. Don’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of these breathtaking dunes of Erg Chebbi as the changing light of day plays upon the sand. Savor the morning breakfast before departing this incredible camp.

As we traverse this spectacular region we reach Erfoud, known for its marine deposit of fossils. These fossils are unearthed and traded or fabricated into products such as jewelry. We then reach the mountain town of Midelt, known for its handicraft co-op and its importance as a mining center. Midelt is also famous for its orchards of apples.

We then make our way to the cedar forest of Azrou to observe the Barbary apes and nomadic shepherds on this scenic journey between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Don’t miss the opportunity to hand feed the monkeys as they playfully tease you with their antics. A beautiful riad then awaits in Fes where we stay the night.

Day 6

FES SIGHTSEEING TOUR

Today will be devoted to the amazing sights of Fes, the oldest cultural and spiritual imperial city in Morocco, founded in 790 B.C. By Moulay Idriss II.

A historic highlight will include a private guided tour of the Medieval Medina, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is one of the world’s largest walled cities. Lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices and intricately woven Berber carpets, the narrow streets are adorned with ancient mosques and minarets. The famous souks of Fes are yours to explore.

We will visit the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Fes and our guided tour will include a visit to the tannery and the ceramic cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts. You will spend your final night in a hotel/riad in Fes.
