Day 1

CASABLANCA • RABAT • CHEFCHAOUEN

Upon picking you up from the airport, we will visit Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco as well as the fifth largest in the world. Its minaret is the tallest minaret in the world.

Next we drive to Rabat, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and the administrative capital of Morocco where we will see Hassan II Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. Afterwards, we drive to the enchanting mountain village of Chefchaouen which is famous for its vivid blue washed houses. Chefchaouen is popular for both tourists and Moroccans. Explore Chefchaouen, with it’s winding lanes and narrow alleys which are home to numerous souks.

Discover offerings of cuisine and artisan works, such as woolen items, intricate embroidery and goats cheese; all native to the North and not found anywhere else in Morocco. Relax in the square, visit a local farm or hike in nearby parks. Enjoy a night in Chefchaouen.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will begin our adventure to Fes. We pay a visit to the Ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, an UNESCO World Heritage site. It is here that we witness the artistic mosaics, marble and bronze statuary that have been unearthed and preserved.

After your private tour we will visit the sacred town of Moulay Idriss, where the founder of Islam in Morocco is buried. You will have time to enjoy lunch before departing to Meknes or “the Moroccan Versailles”, which was founded at the end of the 17th Century by Moulay Ismail. Highlights will include Bab Mansour, and Hari Souani. We will then continue to Fes for your overnight stay in a wonderful riad.

Day 3

FES SIGHTSEEING TOUR

Today will be devoted to the amazing sights of Fes, the oldest cultural and spiritual imperial city in Morocco, founded in 790 B.C. By Moulay Idriss II. An historic highlight will include a guided tour of the Medieval Medina, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is one of the world’s largest walled cities.

Lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices and intricately woven Berber carpets, the narrow streets are yours to explore. Other points of interest include the Medersa (an Islamic teaching university), the El Qaraouiyyin Mosque which was founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the spectacular Nejjarine Fountain.

After some time to enjoy lunch we continue with a visit to the “Arabian House” to observe various craftsmen performing their work reminiscent of ancient practices. The Dar Batha Palace is now a museum of arts and traditions. Other places of interest include the Kings Palace, Bab Boujiloud and the Chouwara Tanneries. At the end of the day you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Fes.

Day 4

FES • IFRANE • AZROU • MIDELT • ZIZ VALLEY • ERFOUD •ALLURE OF THE DESERT CAMEL TREK

After breakfast in Fes, we will head south to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco because of its alpine-style architecture. We pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains to the cedar forest of Azrou, home to Barbary Macaques. Don’t miss the opportunity to hand feed the monkeys. Next we go to Midelt, known for its handicraft co-op and its importance as a mining center. Here you will enjoy a local lunch before crossing the Tizi n’Talrhemt Pass. Photo opportunities abound as we admire the views of the Ziz Gorges.

We continue to Erfoud which is famous for the marine deposits of fossils and then on to the kasbah where we prepare for an unforgettable camel trek into the pink sands of Morocco’s highest dunes. Enjoy your time wandering the dunes before the sun sets in a spectacular show of colors. Traditional Moroccan dinner is served, followed by an energetic music show of Berber instruments around a campfire. Count the shooting stars as you gaze in wonder before a peaceful night in a private nomadic tent.

Day 5

MERZOUGA • TODRA GORGES
• DADES GORGES

Be sure to wake up early in the morning to watch what well may be the most striking sunrise of your life. Savor the morning breakfast before departing this incredible camp. During your ride back, don’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of these breathtaking dunes of Erg Chebbi as the changing light of day plays upon the sand.

Next, we depart making our way to Todra Gorges, the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Have your camera ready as we stop along the way for spectacular photo opportunities. Take the time to hike around and absorb the grandeur of this wondrous place.

Let’s proceed to Boumalne du Dades as we basque in the vistas of the Dades Gorges. The multi-colored walls of this magnificent gorge range from 200-500 meters high. Take the time to enjoy a dinner before you are taken to your hotel/riad.

Day 6

DADES GOURGES • OUARZAZATE • AIT BENHADDOU • MARRAKECH

This morning after breakfast we depart to Ouarzazate to visit Skoura. This oasis, sprinkled with palm tree groves, is among Morocco’s most beautiful. We will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, originally the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech and a symbol of the feudal period of the lords of Atlas.

After a photo stop at the Atlas film studios, we will visit the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. This famous kasbah is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco and was used as a backdrop for more than twenty films.

Following lunch in a local village restaurant, we cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass with altitudes reaching 2260 meters. We end our day in Marrakech where you will spend your night.

Day 7

MARRAKECH SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, this day will be devoted to the sightseeing of Marrakech, the second oldest imperial city known as the “Pearl of the South”. Marrakech is also home to the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Menara Garden and the Majorelle Garden which is a two and a half acre botanical garden created by the artist for whom it is named.

With your private guide you will walk around the Medina, an UNESCO World Heritage Site to explore the souks and the world famous Djemaa El Fna which offers various entertainment such as storytellers, acrobats, snake-charmers and magicians. We then return you to your hotel/riad for the night.
